Artist's Statement

 

As an oil painter whose work encompasses contemporary realism and

modern impressionism, Creation is my most valuable source of inspiration.

Contemplating the beauty of living things refreshes me and enables me to consider

which of my painting styles will most faithfully capture the heart of my subjet. 

 

I build my paintings on a foundation of clean compositions and vibrant color,

trading lifeless dark values for light-filled shadows that give my work a sense of

atmospheric glow. I focus on the physical essence of a captured moment rather

 than rendering every detail, allowing all who ponder each piece to imagine its story.​

 

My hope is that the creative choices I make at the easel are evident

in all of my paintings and that those who view them will appreciate the courage, dedication and delight that brings each piece to life."
